The Forbidden City | Written by 【 Uniquely XC™ 】
Woots, finally the time have came for us to visit the forbidden city, the place of 5000 years of preserved chinese culture and history. Everyone is excited to get a taste of historical grandeur soak up in the atmosphere of the old historical relic.Took our favourite line, 22, front-engined, articulated bus from our dorms in the early morning to 前门, before walking to the grand Tiananmen Square. Pictures aside, everyone is stopping here and there to admire the sheer size of the square, prompting responses from the teachers who shouted at us to move quickly.
As usual a guide was provided for us......walked around the premises with much of the structures being blocked and under refurbishment until 16 years later when it would FINALLY be completed. The whole tour took about 2 hours before we exited the city and visited Tiananmen, possible one of the most symbolic structure of Beijing and China.
Lunch was an expensive affair at 面爱面
老舍茶馆was next as we sat on stools, drank tea and watched some interesting performance before YU HUI ACCIDENTALLY spilled tea all over my pants..... Luckily it was dry and before the whole show was over, my pants were oven dry : )
