The Quest '08 | Written by 【 Uniquely XC™ 】

Its kind of a late post, everyone else have already posted upteen posts on this, but I believe, as the group leader, I should make my contribution to the recollections

It was super exciting lor, woke up at 6.30 am to a world of darkness, the sun was still low in the sky hiding from view, got dressed in comfy clothing and ventured into the early hours of the morning. Waited for 300 and 190, both of which are like ghost buses this early in the morning.

Met up with my teammates and much chatting and laughter ensued as we registered and collected our nEbO passport number 25 (My lucky number from now on....), changed into our ORANGE shirts and prepared ourselves for the challenge. Thanks to my extensive social network and a particular mugger in our team, getting the answers for questions requiring contextual knowledge was a breeze and we managed MOST of the questions before the race even begun

Our first stop: PCBunk
Rushed to the internet cafe and immediately searched the net for answers to the burning questions in the passport. Needless to say, answers were immediately apparent and less that 15 minutes later, we are off

Second Stop: Tan Kim Seng Fountain (did I get that right?)
Had to blow a balloon till it bust and wheelbarrow, nothing much, really. Completed in less that 15 minutes

Third Stop: Victoria Theatre
wasted a bit of time here due to the crowds at this station. It was piggyback time and amazingly I managed to piggyback Alex without much difficulty in my first piggyback experience in my life! Cleared in less than half an hour

Fourth Stop: Tampines Mall
This was the longest journey that we have to make traveling from the city area to the east suburban mall. Performed a 2 minute cheer and solo item for a bunch of Singtel workers, promoting the goodness of NTUC (Fairprice). Got a 'not-so-bad' score of 9/10. Estimated duration: Half an hour

Fifth Stop: Tampines Central Community Club
This is when team communication starts to have its first breakdown, a miscommunication between me and the mugger resulted in a wastage of time as we alighted at the wrong stop. Asked the cashier inside CHEERS for the prices of items and reported it. Another 'less than 15 minutes' stop

Six Stop: White Sands
This station was completely in 5 seconds. Due to our 15 minutes stop at PCBunk, we have already figured out the answers for this station. Onwards!

Last Stop: Downtown East
This is when it gets all hyped up and exhilarated. tried to take the orthodox method to reach downtown east by bus, however, upon seeing the crowds that are waiting for a bus that never seems to come and armed with a BUS GUIDE, we managed to locate a far faster way to get there, bus number 17, shaving off precious minutes off our time. Again, it was time to test of napha skills as we ran across the grass patch, clocking impressive times... Time taken, less than 15 minutes

End Result: 8th
Arrived at the final stop, panting with exhaustion only to find our rival group, Randy and his NPCC mates have already reached before us. Nonetheless, we cant be bothered and went to escape, taking full advantage of our free passes for that day. A truly fun experience as many of my teammates got a first hand experience at "FUN".

As if taken directly out of the Folk Tale of the Tortoise and the Hare, our group had unexpectedly (expectedly) achieved better results that the NPCCs who got 10th

What a spectacular end to a tiring day!
